Safety and risk management consultancy Sanderson Phillips has selected the Safer Tourism Foundation as its main charity partner for 2025.

Independent charity Safer Tourism Foundation aims to save lives and prevent serious harm or injury to UK travellers. The charity works in partnership with the travel industry via the Safer Tourism Pledge and delivers public awareness campaigns to tackle specific risk areas likely to impact holidaymakers. Sanderson Phillips will donate a percentage of fees from newly signed clients, as well as a proportion of the ticket sales from its annual Risk, Safety and Crisis Management Seminar, at which Safer Tourism CEO Kathy Atkinson will appear as a guest speaker.

“Sanderson Phillips is thrilled to choose the Safer Tourism Foundation as our main charity partner for 2025 and beyond. Through our expert safety and risk management services, we aim to support travel organisations looking to elevate their travel safety procedures and improve the long-term sustainability of their businesses. It’s our hope that alongside our unique expertise and wide-reaching list of clients, our collaboration and mutual support will help the Safer Tourism Foundation further deliver against its goal of saving lives and preventing serious harm and injuries to UK travellers, at home and abroad,” commented Sanderson Phillips MD David Atkin.

Sanderson Phillips will make an annual donation to the Safer Tourism Foundation to support the charity’s campaign work as well as its efforts to inform and influence travel operators’ safety practices.

Safer Tourism Foundation CEO, Katherine Atkinson said, “The Safer Tourism Foundation has a big remit – to save lives and prevent harm. We do this in several ways, including facilitating greater industry collaboration on safety, by collecting and analysing incident data, and using behavioural science techniques to shape traveller risk perception and risk behaviour. But we’re a small team with limited resources, and we rely on support from others who share our aims to realise our ambition. We’re thrilled to be selected as Sanderson Phillips’ main charity partner for 2025 and beyond, and we look forward to working with David and the team to continue to help make travel safer for everyone.”

A portion of the ticket sales from Sanderson Phillips’ upcoming Risk, Safety and Crisis Management Seminar will also be donated to the Safer Tourism Foundation. The seminar takes place on the 29th of April in London, with tickets available for purchase here: https://sandersonphillips.co.uk/travel-risk-safety-and-crisis-management-seminar-2025/.
