Over 1,100 hotels, resorts, lodges and guest houses have now been audited against our COVID-19 minimum standards and are showing as ‘COVID-19 Compliant’ in our data management system. Our tour operator clients can be reassured that these properties have met relevant COVID-19 safety requirements specific to their property size, style and location. Our COVID-19 audit focuses on the property’s risk management plan, virus control measures, enhanced cleaning procedures, staff training, communications, Prevention of the Spread of Infection (POSI) procedure and incident management protocols.
Becoming COVID-19 Compliant
As part of our COVID-19 compliancy assessment, hotels must confirm that they have adequate pre-arrival information in place, visual and verbal reminders in house for guests and staff to maintain relevant physical distancing and personal hygiene procedures; and comply with any contact tracing requirements in the country of operation. Enhanced hygiene policies and increased cleaning frequencies must be in place in all guestrooms, public areas, restaurants and bars, leisure facilities, business facilities, back of house areas and in all property-owned transportation. Comprehensive staff training is vital, as is having the relevant risk assessments and emergency planning in place to deal with a suspected or confirmed case, or a larger outbreak.
Obtaining COVID-19 Accreditation
Should accommodation owners or brands wish to go one step further in their commitment to COVID-19 compliancy by attaining independent verification of their COVID-19 compliance, we have created an Accreditation which can be undertaken by any size of property in any country. In partnership with Global Secure Accreditation and independently verified by third-party awarding body SFJ Awards, our certification is a rigorous examination of the property’s policies and procedures which can be shared with all stakeholders if successful.
